Sytenko Institute Conference: Advanced Treatment Of Hip, Knee & Shoulder
A great two-day scientific and educational event organized by Sytenko Institute of Spine & Joint Pathology, National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons in cooperation with the European Hip Society (EHS) and with the support of The European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT). Thanks to everyone who took part.
180 orthopaedic surgeon delegates joined together in Kharkiv, Ukraine, for the 2nd International Conference “Advanced Treatment of Hip, Knee & Shoulder Pathology” with 38 high-profile Ukrainian and international experts, who lead symposia and sessions on innovative approaches to treating major joint pathologies — from reconstructive surgery to revision arthroplasty, discussions of complex cases associated with complications of total joint replacement, diagnosis and treatment options for periprosthetic joint infection, including shoulder joint pathologies, plus practical workshops.
For the first time in Ukraine, the AO Foundation (Switzerland), under the AO PEER (Program for Education and Excellence in Research) — a programme for training and upgrading in research — ran a theoretical online course Principles of Clinical Research aimed at comprehensive teaching of research methods in the medical field, in particular in orthopaedics and traumatology. The training covered all components of the research — from developing the idea to publication of the results. The knowledge gained will enable the preparation of articles for publication in accordance with the requirements of evidence-based medicine in the journals included in Scopus and Web of Science scientific databases.
Congratulations to Dr Ahmen Amine Badnaoui, winner of the Best Paper Award for Young Scientists was EHS Young Member Ahmed. His prize is a Fellowship to Lille, in France, to be organised by EHS Past President Dr Jean-Alain Epinette.
Thanks to all who came to Kharkiv, the beautiful and hospitable city in Ukraine, to make this event such a great success.
