Patent and Licensing Group of the State Institution “Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” is a structural subdivision that ensures the legal protection of the results of scientific and innovative activities, as well as facilitates the implementation of the Institute’s developments in medical practice.

Main areas of activity:

• Support for the acquisition of intellectual property rights (patenting inventions, utility models, registration of copyright, etc.).
• Preparation of materials and submission of applications for intellectual property objects to the relevant bodies.
• Monitoring the validity and extension of the term of protective documents.
• Development, conclusion and support of licensing agreements and contracts for the transfer of intellectual property rights.
• Consulting research staff on the protection of intellectual rights, application preparation, and opportunities for commercialisation of developments.
• Promotion of innovation activities and raising the awareness of Institute employees on intellectual property issues.

Purpose of the Group:

To ensure effective legal protection of the Institute’s scientific achievements, increase the institution’s innovation appeal, and promote the introduction of advanced treatment and diagnostic methods into clinical practice.
