Scientific Activities

State Institution “Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology, NAMS of Ukraine” – is the oldest scientific and treatment establishment in Ukraine, created in 1907.

The staff of the Institute includes 23 Full Doctors of Sciences with 7 Professors among them, and 53 PhDs.

SI “Sytenko Institute for Spine and Joints Pathology of the NAMS of Ukraine” is a head scientific institution dealing with problems of the spine and joints pathology among all institutions of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and provides proper co-ordinating work on scientific research and organizing measures in this field.

Privileged research directions of the institution:

experimental and theoretical investigation of the problems of diagnostics, conceptual foresight of the states of diseases and injuries of the joints and spine (adults and children), complications preventing, working-out of new treatment technologies (including surgical), working-out of the techniques of patients rehabilitation according to the different stages of treatment;

investigation of the possibilities and usage of surgical treatment of benign and malignant bone tumors with the focus on the organ preserving surgery on spine and extremities;
