On 16 October 2025, the Institute held a master class entitled “Modern Approaches to the Diagnosis of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumours and the Specifics of Their Treatment.”
The topic of the event is highly relevant, as in recent years there has been an increase in the number of oncological diseases, including those affecting bones and joints.
The Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine has extensive experience in the treatment of tumours of the musculoskeletal system, the early diagnosis of which is complicated by the often insignificant symptoms in the early stages of tumour development, lack of oncological alertness among physicians, and insufficient diagnostic examination of patients.
Bone tumours are characterised by specific radiological and clinical features, knowledge of which allows early detection of the pathological process and the provision of qualified treatment. The correct choice of treatment method determines not only the patient’s health but also their life.
The event was held in an offline format.
The master class was conducted by the Institute’s specialist, orthopaedic and trauma surgeon of the highest category, PhD Dmytro MIKHANOVSKYI.
Participants attended a lecture, observed the process of biopsy sampling, and had the opportunity to perform the biopsy themselves on training models.
