From 10 to 12 September 2026, the WORLD SPINE 11 international congress was held in Homburg, Germany, focusing on the latest advances in spinal surgery.

A delegation from the Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine took part in the congress. The Institute’s specialists presented the results of their scientific and clinical research and participated in professional discussions with colleagues from various countries.

A dedicated Ukrainian Spine Society session was also held as part of the congress, featuring presentations of recent scientific research by Ukrainian specialists in the field of spinal pathology and surgery. An important part of the WORLD SPINE 11 programme was also a session devoted to spinal and spinal cord injuries resulting from hostilities. The session addressed the specific features of gunshot and blast injuries, mechanisms of injury, modern approaches to surgical treatment, and the Institute’s experience in providing care to those injured in wartime conditions.

Participation in WORLD SPINE 11 provided an opportunity to present the Institute’s scientific and clinical achievements to the international professional community, exchange experience with colleagues from abroad, and expand opportunities for further international cooperation.
