Specialists of the Department of Spine Surgery of the Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Participated in Global Spine Congress 2026

From 27 to 30 May 2026, a delegation from the Department of Vertebrology of the Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine participated in the international scientific and practical congress Global Spine Congress 2026, held in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye.
Participation in the congress was an important milestone in the professional development of the department’s staff, as Global Spine Congress is a leading international event dedicated to contemporary approaches in spinal diagnostics, treatment, and surgery. The congress programme brought together specialists from around the world, providing an opportunity to become acquainted with the latest developments in vertebrology, discuss current clinical challenges, and compare their own experience with international practice.
During the congress, the delegation attended scientific sessions, lectures, practical demonstrations, and exhibition displays dedicated to the treatment of degenerative spinal disorders, osteoporotic lesions, traumatic injuries, spinal deformities, as well as modern minimally invasive technologies, navigation systems, and simulation-based training in spinal surgery.
Particular attention was paid to improving surgical strategies, preventing postoperative complications, selecting optimal spinal stabilisation techniques, and implementing the latest technologies in routine clinical practice. The information obtained will contribute significantly to the further development of the department’s diagnostic and therapeutic activities and to improving the quality of medical care provided to patients with spinal disorders.
The congress also served as a platform for professional exchange with international and Ukrainian colleagues. Members of the delegation had the opportunity to discuss challenging clinical cases, contemporary scientific approaches, prospects for future collaboration, participation in international educational programmes, and the preparation of scientific publications.
An important aspect of the visit was the presentation of the Department of Vertebrology’s scientific achievements at the international level. Participation in such an event promotes the dissemination of the scientific accomplishments of the Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, expands professional networks, and facilitates the integration of the Ukrainian vertebrological school into the global scientific community.
As a result of participation in Global Spine Congress 2026, the delegation of the Department of Vertebrology gained valuable professional experience, received up-to-date information on current trends in spinal surgery, generated new ideas for clinical and scientific work, and established opportunities for further international cooperation.
