An orthopaedic traumatologist, Saidov Yerkinboy Heyitovich, completed an on-the-job training at SI “Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”. This is the first specialist from Uzbekistan to have been trained at our institution over the past five years. He represents the National Centre for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics of Persons with Disabilities (Tashkent), which is the leading institution in his country in the field of orthopedics and rehabilitation.
During his internship, E.H. Saidov got acquainted in detail with modern methods of primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, learnt the principles of preoperative planning, surgical techniques and postoperative patient management. Particular attention was paid to discussing modern approaches to surgical treatment of patients with complications after arthroplasty, as well as the use of the latest biomaterials and orthopaedic structures. Dr Saidov actively participated in clinical rounds of patients, assisted during surgeries, and learned from the experience of the Institute’s leading specialists in restoring the function of large joints in complex clinical cases.
The Director of the Institute, Professor Stanislav Bondarenko, personally supervised the training of the specialist, shared his experience in the field of arthroplasty and provided recommendations on the introduction of advanced technologies into the practice of Uzbek colleagues.
After successful completion of the internship programme, Stanislav Bondarenko presented Dr Saidov with a certificate certifying his training at the Institute.
We are confident that the acquired knowledge and skills will contribute to the further development of orthopaedic care in Uzbekistan, as well as to the strengthening of professional relations between our medical institutions.
