Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation “The 2nd Slobozhanska Conference on Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (SCAIT-II)”
On 27 June 2025, the State Institution “Sytenko Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” hosted the scientific and practical conference with international participation titled “The 2nd Slobozhanska Conference on Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (SCAIT-II)”.
The conference brought together 128 specialists from various regions of Ukraine. The event was held in close cooperation with the profile departments of leading Kharkiv universities — Kharkiv National Medical University and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
Participants listened to and discussed insightful presentations covering current issues in anaesthesiology and intensive care, including:
- challenges of regional anaesthesia,
- anaesthesia for geriatric and comorbid patients,
- anaesthesia in the semi-sitting position,
- opioids in anaesthesiology,
- key issues of transfusiology, sepsis, stress, and more.

Special guest of the conference — consultant anaesthesiologist from Monash Hospital (Melbourne, Australia) — Richard Barnes.
